I have my "2nd Mama" to thank for our delicious Bimbo Bolognese. She has a quaint little garden where she grew this Bimbo some DELICIOUS red and green tomatoes. They were perfect and totally the inspiration for our sauce. Plus, I totes documented the whole thing- old school- with my digital camera, just so she could see. It was absolutely delicious and I'm so glad I made enough to freeze for later! Ps- (crockpots scare the s**t out of me... I was literally terrified all day it was on... but it turned out to be perfectly safe. Such a worry wart.) Here's the recipe! Ingredients: 1 Medium White Onion - Chopped 2 Cloves of Garlic- Chopped 4 Large Tomatoes (boiled, peeled, chopped) 8 Baby Tomatoes (green and red- boiled, peeled, chopped) 15oz Can of Tomato Sauce 8 oz H2O 1 Tbsp Olive Oil 1 Tsp. Salt 1/2 Pkg of Ground Turkey Heres's the How to! (so easy! This B is all about easy) First (it's recommended to) boil the tomatoes, peel them, and chop them up. I'm a newbie - so I just chopped em' the heck up. Then I turned my crock pot (terror instilled) on to low. Set them on a plate. Chopped up my onion (very finely- I Just like them for the flavor). Chopped up some garlic, and set them both with the toms - Veggie portion DONE! Next, I took a tiny smidge of the onions and garlic, threw it in a pan with some EVOO and browned the turkey. && lastly, I put my turkey into the crockpot, then the veggies, then all the other ingredients- and I let that sucker cook on low for like 9 hours. When I got home, my taste buds were IN HEAVEN. Delicious, super easy, and literally cooked while I was gone. The Crockpot is the new black. And all you Bimbos need one. Xo Bimbos, Gab |
